Raised Flooring

BNI Supply and Install

Raised Flooring

Blue Networks and Infrastructure (BNI) supply and install a raised flooring, according to our client’s requirements and specifications.

BNI Standards

It conforms to the following standards:

  • The standard 600mm x 600mm compressed wood or steel / cement, or equivalent fire rated raised floor with a secure jacking system to be installed. The false floor would normally be between 170mm and 220mm high.
  • Where the floor is used as a cooled air distribution plenum for down-blow air-conditioning units, then the minimum floor height must not be less than 500mm.
  • The load capacity of the structural floor must be taken into account when designing the server room. There may be a need to provide additional support in some areas to allow for high traffic or areas with heavier than normal loads. The minimum load that the raised floor should be able to carry is 1200kg.
  • A high-pressure laminated top surface with bevelled edge should be provided.
  • The floor surface must allow for proper dissipation of electrostatic charges. The floor tiles and grid systems should provide a safe path to ground through the tile surface, to the floor substructure and through the signal reference grid. The maximum resistance for the flooring system should not exceed 2 x 1010 ohms, measured between the floor surface and the building (or an applicable ground reference).
  • Flooring material with a lower resistance will further decrease static build-up and discharge.
  • For safety, the floor covering and flooring system should provide a resistance of no less than 150k ohms when measured between any two points on the floor space 1 m (3 ft.) apart.
